Noname – “Song 33”

Noname has released a track entitled “Song 33,” her response to J. Cole’s “Snow On Tha Bluff.” The current climate has the people calling for a revolution, and what better to mobilize people to effect change than having artists use their platforms to light the spark… and those with a platform just sitting back are choosing the wrong time to be spectators.

That’s the point Noname was making, which got J. Cole feeling some type of way to the point he focused a whole verse to the Chicago rapper, which leads us to this song. Noname addresses Cole on top of production from Madlib, with these lines:

“Wow look at him go/He really ’bout to write about me while the world is in smokes?/When his people in trees, when George was begging for his mother saying he couldn’t breathe/you thought to write about me?”
