The Black Keys Announce New Album and Share New Song/Video, “Wild Child”

One of the most renowned Rock groups of the last couple decades, and one of my contemporary favorites, The Black Keys are officially entering their latest album release campaign with today’s announcement of their next album. The duo’s eleventh studio album will be entitled Dropout Boogie and it will be released on May 13 via Nonesuch Records. Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top), Greg Cartwright (Reigning Sound), and Angelo Petraglia (Kings of Leon) are all guest collaborators on the new album.

The announcement comes with the release of its lead single and accompanying music video, “Wild Child.” The visual, directed by the band’s longtime collaborator Bryan Schlam, is on-theme with the album title and follows Auerbach and Carney in their new gigs as janitor and lunch dude, respectively, in the wild world of high school in the 2020s. Think Euphoria without Sam Levinson at the helm.
