The Black Keys have shared the latest track off their forthcoming covers album, Delta Kream. The new single is a cover of R.L. Burnside’s “Going Down South” and it premiered earlier today on Zane Lowe’s show on Apple Music.
The Black Keys’ rendition of the song arrived with a video directed by Ryan Nadzam, shown above.
Delta Kream is due out May 14 via Nonesuch Records.
Dan Auerbach shared a statement about the track:
That was one of R.L. Burnside’s hits! We strayed a little from the original on our version with the falsetto and percussion, but we liked how it sounded in that moment. It’s become one of my favorites on the album.
