Bob Dylan Shares New Song “Murder Most Foul”

The legendary Bob Dylan has shared a new song entitled “Murder Most Foul,” his first new track in eight years. The 17-minute song revolves around the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, from name-dropping Lee Harvey Oswald to driving down Dealy Plaza to singing “There’s a party going on behind the Grassy Knoll” and “Zapruder’s film I seen night before,” the lyrics play on the chatter that have since become part of the lore for this event. “Don’t say Dallas don’t love you, Mr. President” is also particularly effective with Dylan’s gravelly voice these days.

The ballad also dives into that era, covering other historic events and the music that came in the aftermath. Some of the most notable references include Woodstock, The Beatles with a nod to “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” and “Tommy can you hear me?” for The Who.
