Madison, Wisconsin’s own Trapo dropped a track this morning out of the blue, and it features none other than Chicago favorite Alex Wiley; the two have been doing a couple shows together recently so I’m really happy these two found some time to collaborate. Both artists are well known for letting the vibes ride out in their music and both are super skilled lyricists so coming together on the same track just makes sense. Trapo uses his raspy rapping/singing voice to float on the mellow Thelonious beat, while Wiley delivers a short verse with some fast-paced bars. The instrumentation is really vital in creating the atmosphere of the song; horns were provided by willmillerrr and bass by carterplaysbass. Be sure to peep this vibrant track after the jump.
Alex recently cancelled the rest of his tour dates, including the Chicago headliner with Trapo, due to “ongoing personal issues.” We know music is one of the best healing agents there is, so hopefully he bounces back from whatever he is going through, we wish him the best over here at POD.
