Twin Peaks today have announced the forthcoming release of their third studio album, Down In Heaven, which will arrive May 13 via Grand Jury. The new record was made by the group themselves, with Colin Croom joining the band of Chicago DIY-ers that was made up of Cadien Lake James, Clay Frankel, Connor Brodner, and Jack Dolan.
After going out on tour through the country and Europe, slaying shows at Pitchfork, Lollapalooza, and Reading & Leeds, thanks to the success of 2014’s sophomore album Wild Onion, the crew shacked up by a lake in Western Massachusetts in the summer of 2015, a solitary place where they could experiment and record their latest effort. The result is going to be released as Down In Heaven, co-produced by the band and longtime collaborator R. Andrew Humphrey, and mixed by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth).
The first cut from the project is lead track “Walk To The One” which, according to the release, “is a song written by lead singer CL James about letting someone close to you go.” Hear that, and find more album details along with 2016 tour dates, below.
