Polaroids In the Crowd – Lollapalooza 2025

Lollapalooza brings together a wide range of artists on their lineup and fans that show up dressed are on a level 10 energy. While everyone looks forward to seeing their favorite artists hit the stage, what often gets overlooked is being in the crowd itself. You get a better sense of the endless love some fans can have for artists, which is immediately understood when you’re surrounded by the energy they bring and the outfits they come wearing. So I decided to flip the lens and give you a glimpse of the artists from the point of view you can only get when you’re in those crowds, taking polaroids to capture those unforgettable, raw, and joyful moments.

TWICE

Oh gosh! Twice delivered an amazing performance during their set. Fans held the cutest wands shaped like a lollipops and chanting every words with their heart. At one point, a drone performance lit up the sky and it was the coolest thing ever, and everyone looked up in awe.

KATSEYE

KATSEYE made their Lolla debut and I couldn’t get enough of their beautiful melodies. It was my first time seeing them perform, and their song “Gnarly” was the most catchiest one I can remember. Their choreography and fan chants had me completely hooked and now I can proudly say I’m a fan.

Junior Varsity

I’ve waited so long to catch Junior Varsity after discovering their song, “My Star” a few months back. This was their first festival appearance, and the really know how to get the crowd going. At one point the main singer jumped into the crowd and all the fans made sure to hype it out to another level.

Clairo

Clairo’s intro was very chill and almost nostalgic the set up and watching friends just hang outudience. The crowd showed endless love as she performed fan favorites like “Juno’ and “Sofia”. Then she brought other her other band, Shelly, and they danced together to their song, “Steeam”. It was such a sweet moment seeing couples singing along. Love was in the air during her set.

Fujii Kaze

Seeing Fujii Kaze for the first time completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. His band blends J-pop with R&B, and it was such a unique vibe. One of the most adorable moments was a young fan snapping a photo of him with a disposable camera, handed to them by a parent. Even though I couldn’t understand the lyrics, the energy was so good! The fans next to me were geeking out and they couldn’t believe they were actually seeing him live. Their joy was very contagious!

The Marías

I got so emotional during The Marías’ set and I wasn’t alone. People around me were tearing up, and when they performed “No One Noticed,” the crowd sang every high-pitched note like it was a shared release. Their music feels like emotional support in sonic form and a big, comforting hug from the band to the audience.

Rachel Grae

So I stumbled upon Rachel Grae’s set after noticing a crowd of fans rushing past me toward the BMI stage. I was so curious that I followed them and I’m glad I did. Her beautiful soothing melody was exactly the kind of sound I’m into and couldn’t resist. I ended up making my way to the front just in time to catch the last few songs. Rachel’s performance was heartfelt, and her gratitude radiated from the stage. It was a wholesome moment families dancing with their kids, gentle hand waves moving through the crowd, and an atmosphere full of love and appreciation. No regrets at all it was just pure vibes.
