Fresh Track: Cousin Stizz – “Puddle Boots”

Your favorite Cousin Stizz has dropped his first effort of 2024 with “Puddle Boots”, a bouncy new single that has been on repeat for me since it dropped two days ago.

Stizz hasn’t dropped since his three-track EP ‘Never Enough’ hit DSPs in September of last year. I’m a huge fan of ‘Never Enough’ as he holds true to his bouncy, soulful, and refined production standard that he solidified early in his career through the release of his notable first two full-length releases, ‘Suffolk County’ and ‘Monda’.

“Puddle Boots” absolutely holds to that high production standard as Cousin Stizz effortlessly floats over this enthralling beat. I appreciate Stizz’s lyricism similarly to the way I do Larry June’s; their music continuously motivates me to push in the right direction as often as I can. I’m hoping that 2024 continues to build up this sort of rap as much as 2023 did, and I know that Stizz is a wonderful representative of what I’d love to see more of going forward.

“When you grew up without having a lot you know how much everything counts / Still splittin’ this shit with my dogs it’s just how we breakin’ it down”

Stream “Puddle Boots” below, and keep an eye out for Cousin Stizz throughout the rest of 2024.
