POD Photos: Pitchfork Music Festival 2023 – Day One

Friday of every year’s Pitchfork is a wonderful welcome back to one of the best festivals in the world. Yes, I said it! One of the best in the world. Hopping off the Ashland green line stop and immediately hearing waves of live music will truly never get old.

Walking into a joyful and crowd-involved Mavi set was an amazing way to start the day. The Charlotte MC put on one of my favorite sets of the weekend early in the afternoon on Friday. Pitchforkers really started to roll in as one of the most electric solo acts conquered the Red Stage in Grace Ives. An immaculate performance from Trevor Powers and Youth Lagoon followed closely after Perfume Genius commanded the Green Stage. Jlin offered an utterly dope and diverse set to set up Ric Wilson and Leikeli47 well to close out the Blue Stage. Alvvays and fan-favorites The Smile were stand-out acts that left the Friday Pitchfork crowd more than satisfied.
