Huron John has returned with his latest offering, “Arthur”. This track marks the first released single off of John’s upcoming full-length effort, Cartoon Therapy. This young, Chicago-bred creative impressed me with older releases such as Never Inside and Apocalypse Wow; his sound has matured since those releases, but the playful, indie-pop sound he’s perfected shines through on “Arthur”.
“Arthur” is an uptempo cut showcasing Huron John’s unique production/arranging style as well as his impressive songwriting. Guitar layers resonate alongside an array of quirky synthesizers throughout this jam. On Instagram, John referred to this cut as “a song about putting your all into impressing/gaining the approval of someone who never really cared in the first place, kind of.”
