Saba Marks His Return With Two New Tracks

Chicago-bred, California-based singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer Saba has been a focus as well as a hometown hero for PoD since his earliest efforts. After a bit of a hiatus, since 2018’s critically acclaimed Care For Me, Sab is back, this time offering fans a diverse two-pack containing both “Mrs. Whoever” as well as “Something in the Water” featuring Denzel Curry.

“Mrs. Whoever” offers strong lo-fi vibes with a vocal slice featured throughout, yet hoppy rums give the track a quicker, more uplifting mood. Saba’s impeccable ability to convey his emotions and thoughts through music is so impressive; it gives all of his tracks such a genuine sound. Saba lays out his soul for listeners on every track he drops.

“Something in the Water” feat. Denzel Curry is as far away Saba could stretch from “Mrs. Whoever”. This one is also DaeDaePIVOT driven; “Something in the Water” is a fast-paced track with quite a bit of low-end. Saba’s subtle voice floats over this hard-hitting track so well. Throughout his verse, it seems as though he wants to let “the industry” that he’s got his own plan. Denzel’s verse comes out of nowhere and he eats this production up per usual but I would’ve loved to hear a bit longer verse.

Saba seems to come back with a more mature and polished version of himself with every release. I can’t wait to see the rest of this album rollout.

Stream the two-pack below and keep your fingers crossed for more new music from Saba.
