Disclosure are sharing today the latest cut from their new album, ENERGY. Though it’s set to release on Friday, you can’t get mad at getting an extra taste in “Birthday,” which features the beautiful voices of Kehlani and Syd.
For this track, the London-based songwriters and producers took a softer direction that is more reminiscent of the sounds to which both singers are accustomed. Today’s release also comes along with a VIP remix version.

On the concept of the song, Howard explains:
Syd & I were going through a similar thing at the time, trying to work out if it was cool to call your ex to say hi or is it too awkward / mean to do so out of the blue?
Guy adds:
It’s the oldest song on the album by far so has definitely stood the test of time and deservedly made the cut… And the addition of Kehlani just took it to the next level and turned into a fire duet.
