Mark Ronson Remixes Angel Olsen’s “New Love Cassette”

Angel Olsen has shared Mark Ronson’s remix of her song, “New Love Cassette.” The UK producer’s take on the All Mirrors track tones down the heavy and brooding nature of the original, and lightens the mood with a smoother groove. The bass is brought forward and the breathy vocals turn soft like what I imagine a cloud would feel.

This is the pair’s latest collaboration, having last connected on “True Blue,” on Ronson’s Late Night Feelings.

Stream the remix below.

Olsen offered this statement about this remix:

The entire process of making All Mirrors has been about letting these songs become something bigger than what I can hear alone… Though I know I’ll always be a songwriter at heart, and I’ll always keep a little bit for myself,  I still love to experiment with material and to see what others hear when it comes to sonic backgrounds. A song can go in so many directions if you let it, I love hearing what Ronson hears in this remix of ‘New Love Cassette.’”

Ronson adds:

It’s hard to remix a song you already love this much, but I dusted off my MPC 3000 and we had a grand old time.
