Lollapalooza 2020 Canceled Because of COVID-19

The news that everyone saw coming, is now confirmed. Lollapalooza 2020 is officially cancelled. The city of Chicago, by way of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) today announced the cancelling of all permitted special events through Labor Day.

The lineup was never announced, so we don’t know what artists are we missing out on for this year’s edition of music festival. According to their own statement, Lolla is urging fans to keep July 30 – August 2, 2020 on their calendars for “a weekend-long virtual event that will include performances from around the city and beyond.”
