Ohmme picked an excellent date to announce their next album. The Chicago band used the city’s 183rd birthday to announceĀ Fantasize Your Ghost, their new album via Joyful Noise Recordings this coming June 5th. As the press release notes, the album is a direct result of the band spending more time on the road than in Chicago
The news also delivers the lead single “3 2 4 3” along with its music video. The visual was filmed in Mexico City and it was directed by Alejandra Villalba GarcĆa. The director said about the pair:
Sima and Macie explained to me that the song was about seeing the landscape/neighborhood change in front of your eyes even though you don’t want it to change,ā says GarcĆa. āI thought that the first half of the video should be about them staying still trying to resist change as the scenery around them changes quickly. The tall dark figure represents change and how it keeps getting closer to them until there’s no escape. When they fight with another version of themselves, the newer versions are the ones that win because they embrace change.
The duo will be hitting the roads of North America this year, including shows in Austin for SXSW. Check out those dates below.
