Lala Lala and Grapetooth Join Forces for “Fantasy Movie” and “Valentine”

More Chicago tunes to bless your ears today! Lala Lala and Grapetooth have teamed together for a two-punch release they’ve shared today. The new tracks are “Fantasy Movie,” and “Valentine” as its B-side.

The first track is a breathy synth-Pop tune with an optimistic feel that evokes those moments where you know you’re in the comfort of your room, dancing to whatever mood strikes you like when nobody’s watching, with each step drifting you further into a fantasy land. As Lillie West and Clay Frankel sing in the song, “maybe it’s not real,” but that’s love.

Its counterpart “Valentine” has a moodier vibe with Frankel’s deep vocals being heard more prominently, but when you combine West’s softer accompaniment they create wonderful melodies. The song builds nicely and you can lose yourself with all the layers of instruments and vocals that drift in and out.
