POD Photos: Omar Apollo’s ‘The Speed of Sound Tour’ at Concord Music Hall (12/5)

Omar Apollo’s The Speed Of Sound Tour recently stopped by his hometown’s neighboring city of Chicago for an evening that saw the city embrace him as one of its own. Omar had previously played in the Chi as part of this year’s Lollapalooza and later his own aftershow, so this tour was a great way to make the hype around him to continues to grow.

We tapped Javi Montes to cover this show, who shared some highlights of how the night went down along with his photography. At the meet & greet, Omar revealed that he will be releasing more songs in Spanish soon while making sure that he engaged with everyone that made it out to that. It appeared like they were filming, so (fingers crossed) hopefully there’s another Doc in the works.

With his father and other family members in attendance, the lively and energetic crowd made sure to have their love for Omar Apollo be heard and felt. Omar showed his appreciation right back. On the music front, the best moments had to be the massive mosh pit that erupted during “Hijo De Su Madre” and the live cover they did of Queen’s “Cool Cat.” There aren’t too many Rock Stars out there, but the future is looking dope as long as we have Omar Apollo.
