August 30th Will Be Whitney Day in Chicago

You can’t say Chicago doesn’t know how to show loves to its artist community! Well at least that’s the case for Whitney, the local band led by Julien Ehrlich and Max Kakacek, which will have their own day to commemorate the release of their next album.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has proclaimed August 30th to be Whitney Day in Chicago to celebrate the release of their sophomore album, Forever Turned Around. On that date, fans will have a chance to celebrate with the band around the city, including tuning into a morning performance on WXRT, lunch at Parson’s Chicken and Fish, an in-store performance and signing at Shuga Records, capped off with an indoor and outdoor block party at Bungalow by Middle Brow, where they will be serving a special Whitney beer. Portions of sales from the Whitney beer will go towards the Chicago Period Project and Project Fire.
