Album Review: ScHoolboy Q – ‘Crash Talk’

ScHoolboy Q’s latest effort Crash Talk takes listeners through a journey full of emotion and swagger. The Top Dawg Entertainment member was able to create one of the most diverse hip-hop albums that I’ve heard in the last several years. He used his features well and made a really cohesive body of art, showcasing his versatility over a variety of beats.

The mood throughout this album frequently shifts, with features from artists like Kid Cudi and 6lack slowing the pace down, while 21 Savage and Lil Baby keep the trap mood moving along. While ScHoolboy Q’s fourth studio album reminded old fans of how talented of an artist he continues to be, he was able to tap into a wider population who will be sure to have this album on repeat for months to come.
