Japandroids & Goose Island Collab for 2018 Pitchfork Music Festival Beer: The Hops That Heaven Built

One of the coolest things about the annual Pitchfork Music Festival is that beer sponsors Goose Island taps one of the featured fest acts to brew up something for the 3-day event. This year, Canadian rockers Japandroids have the honors to cook up libations.

For this year’s Pitchfork festival, Japandroids and Goose Island teamed up to brew the “Ultimate Canadian Style Pale Ale” and have fittingly dubbed it “The Hops That Heaven Built.” The beer will be sold exclusively at Pitchfork Music Festival in July, and a major update this time around is that this will be the first year it will come in cans!

The duo’s Brian King (guitar, vocals) also designed the can artwork. Check out more details below.

Goose Island is donating all proceeds to RAINN – RAINN is the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the United States, working with more than 1,000 local sexual assault prevention groups across the country. Since 1994, RAINN has helped more than 2.5 million people.

Ingredients: Chosen specifically to pay homage to the Canadian province of British Columbia – the Japandroids home…

  • Malt: 50/50 split of Canadian Superior Ale and Canadian Superior Pilsen
  • Hops: The hops selected are old school Pacific Northwest hops in the kettle, Chinook exclusively, and only dry hopped with a newer hop variety, Idaho 7

In previous years, Goose Island has worked with Twin Peaks, Chance The Rapper, and Run The Jewels for #p4kfest special edition beers.
