Album Review: Our Top 5 Songs on “WWW.” by Towkio

On February 21st, one of POD’s favorite Chicago artist, Towkio, dropped his debut album WWW. from space….literally. A few days before, the Savemoney rapper hosted listening party at The Annex where he announced that he’d drop WWW. from space, and we were all shocked to find out that it was not meant in some metaphorical way. Not only did the recap of his space experience leave us speechless (CLICK HERE TO WATCH), but the album seemed to be well worth the trip. The 13-track album includes features from Sza, Vic Mensa, Teddy Jackson, and more. As Towkio normally does, he was clearly unafraid of taking risks in this project as it included a diverse style of productions. We got a taste of funk, trap, R&B, plus some, which all tied together beautifully.

With that, we narrowed down our top 5 tracks of WWW. Check them out down below!

“Hot Shit”

Prior to the album release, Towkio gave us a sneak peak into the project with the release of his second album single “Hot Shit”. Though it has been out since August, I still can’t get enough of this song. Its pop yet melodic style is super catchy which is why this is one of my favorite Towkio tracks to date.

“Symphony” feat. Teddy Jackson

Following the chill and soothing “Swim”, the Chicagoan definitely livened up the album right away with “Symphony”. Its upbeat tempo on top of Teddy Jackson vocals really showed us the fun side of this album. This song really reminded me his project, .Wav Theory, which really excited me as it took me back to the OG Towkio vibes.

“Forever” feat. Vic Mensa

Is it really a completed project from a Savemoney member if it doesn’t have a feature from another Savemoney member? The answer is no, and it did not disappoint as expected. Towkio and Vic really gave a Chicago vibe from this track titled “Forever” and it is clear that they put their heart and soul onto this piece.

“2 Da Moon” feat. Teddy Jackson & Grace Webber

This second Teddy Jackson featured track was only appropriate to his space travel as it is titled “2 Da Moon”. The song also features funk vocals from the talented Grace Webber. It is for sure one song that you can’t help but dance. And for that, I can’t complain.

“Morning View” feat. SZA

Last, but certainly not least, is “Morning View” featuring SZA, which is 100% the best song off this project. Don’t @ me. Towkio slows it down with this track giving such a chill R&B sound. The production and vocals by Towkio are mesmerizing as it is, but with the addition of SZA…. wow. No words.
