Kendrick Lamar Announces New Album ‘DAMN.’ and it feat. U2 and Rihanna

posted by Oscar April 11, 2017

Kendrick Lamar has revealed today the name of his forthcoming album and it’s titled: DAMN. The King of Compton let the Hip Hop world know on comeback track “The Heart Part 4” that “Y’all got till April 7 to get y’all shit together” and on that day he announced the April 14 release date for the album (via Aftermath/Interscope/Top Dawg).

With posts to his social accounts, Kendrick not only unveiled the cover art but also the tracklist, which shows that there are only two featured acts on the record. Rihanna will appear on “Loyalty” and, extremely surprisingly, U2 features on a song called “XXX.” This follows last week’s update with the album’s credits which showed that Mike WiLL Made-It, BADBADNOTGOOD, the Alchemist, DJ Dahi, “J. Blake,” Sounwave, and Kaytranada are among the other contributors.

The countdown to April 14th just got us more anxious with these details, and Friday couldn’t come any faster! See the tracklist below. Continue Reading

U2 - Innocence Of Sound

U2 pulled a fast one on us by going Beyonce on the world with the sudden release of their latest album, Songs Of Innocence. The album was announced and downloadable during the presentation of Apple’s new iPhone 6 and Watch. It will be available for free exclusively via Apple until October 13; track list after the jump.

Bono told Rolling Stone:

“We wanted to make a very personal album. Let’s try to figure out why we wanted to be in a band, the relationships around the band, our friendships, our lovers, our family. The whole album is first journeys — first journeys geographically, spiritually, sexually. And that’s hard. But we went there.”

Video: Pharrell, Karen O + Ezra Koenig, U2 Live at ‘the Oscars’)

posted by Oscar March 3, 2014

This year’s Academy Awards, more commonly known as the Oscars, celebrated its 86th ceremony held to honor the best of all those involved in every important facet of the film industry in 2013. This year was a particularly different edition of the Oscars as it featured several POD-favorites like the Arcade Fire up for Best Score for the Her score (eventually lost to Gravity) and Pharrell and Karen O were nominated for Best Song (for “Happy” from Despicable Me 2 and “The Moon Song” from Her, respectively; eventually losing to “The Moon Song”). Not only that, but all the nominees in the Best Song category performed throughout the night.

Above you can see Pharrell performing a good rendition of his track and even got to dance with the likes of Lupita Nyong’o (who won Best Supporting Actress) and Amy Adams (Oscar-nominated). Hit the jump to see Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend) perform “The Moon Song” and U2 performing “Ordinary Love.” Continue Reading
