Hear the Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Version of John Carpenter’s ‘Halloween’ Theme Song

Nine Inch Nails members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have taken on the task of reimagining the theme song for John Carpenter’s iconic Halloween. The duo’s version is part of the forthcoming Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 collection, which reinterpret Carpenter’s most memorable movie tracks.

Reznor and Ross really took this song to even greater, creepier depths with the feeling of impending always just around the corner. Music can still be scary, and I’m down with that!

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Share “A Minute to Breathe,” Made for Leonardo DiCaprio’s Film

Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Gustavo Santaolalla and Mogwai have shared their song for Leonardo DiCaprio’s feature documentary Before the Flood. The film is a call to action from longtime environmental advocate DiCaprio and actor/filmmaker/Oscar-winning documentary producer Fisher Stevens (The Cove, Racing Extinction).

Video: Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Josh Homme Play “Mantra” From the ‘Sound City Soundtrack’ Live

Dave Grohl is finding excellent success with his documentary, Sound City, about the legendary California studio of the same name. The soundtrack also features an All-Star group with original material, including Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) and Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails).

In this clip you’ll see Grohl, Homme, and Reznor performing the eight-minute cut live in the studio for the song “Mantra.” The soundtrack Sound City: Real to Reel, will be out March 12th; listen to the whole album over at NPR. The Sound City film is available now and the Sound City Players are set to play SXSW on March 14th; Grohl holding keynote speaker duties at the festival.
