Thierry Henry Announces Retirement From Pro Soccer; Relive His Best Goals

posted by Oscar December 16, 2014

Legendary player Thierry Henry has announced that he will officially hang his boots and say goodbye to professional soccer. In his storied career the Frenchman amassed titles wherever he played, the biggest including two Premier League titles with Arsenal plus two La Liga titles and one Champions League cup with Barcelona.

His most fantastic run was with his London club, which today compiled the top ten Premier League goals Henry ever scored (see above) and while Barcelona didn’t create a video specifically in response to the news of his retirement, a year ago they uploaded a video to their YouTube page for their “Legends” series that shows over 25 minutes of Titi’s best goals for the Catalans. FIFA says goodbye to the retired striker with their list of his five best goals for France in FIFA World Cup™ play. You can see those goals and his career stats + achievements below. Video: Mike Magee’s Day Off

posted by Oscar July 16, 2014

The World Cup may be over but there’s no reason to stop loving the “beautiful game” if you’re a soccer fan living stateside, so KickTV and Mike Magee (Chicago Fire forward and reigning league MVP) have put together an excellent spot to remind you to continue following the sport by supporting the MLS. The short is a parody on the iconic 80’s film, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with Mike Magee playing the central character that takes the day off of training by faking being sick. The clip also features the LA Galaxy’s Omar Gonzalez, Sydney Leroux, Hope Solo, NY Red Bulls’ Thierry Henry, Bruce Arena and other figures of the league.

Using the Fire faithful part of the “float scene” from the movie is the icing on the cake for us. See it above and some outtakes & deleted scenes below. Continue Reading
