Afropunk Brooklyn 2017 Lineup Announced feat. Thundercat, Gary Clark Jr., Kaytranada, + a St. Heron Stage

The 2017 lineup for the Brooklyn installment of Afropunk has been announced. The roster for this year includes Soul II Soul, Sampha, Thundercat, Kaytranada, Dizzee Rascal, Gary Clark Jr., Macy Gray, SZA, Serpentwithfeet, Sango, The Cool Kids, and Kevin Abstract. Solange’s St. Heron and Kaytranada will also  Many more headliners will be announced soon, too.

The critically-acclaimed fest will take place August 26-27 at Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene. See the lineup below. Continue Reading

The Cool Kids – “TV Dinner”

The Cool Kids are making their comeback official and are set for releasing their first album since their 2011 debut, When Fish Ride Bicycles.

Today, the duo of Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish have unleashed “TV Dinner,” the lead single from their forthcoming project. If you needed new indication why these guys are bona fide geniuses, look no further than this track!

Day 3 of SXSW 2017 was packed with dope showcases throughout downtown Austin, which helped give us that much more to choose from regarding the artists we’d want to see for the night… but that also made it so much more difficult to decide on an action plan because the lineups were insane pretty much everywhere, so having to choose the right showcase carried so much more weight.

But that’s when it helps to have a squad in ATX, so while I went over to the House Of Vans/Fake Shore Drive showcase at the Mohawk that boasted a stacked lineup of some of Chicago’s best talent plus French Montana headlining, Alex and Alberto (AKA ) made their way to Easy Tiger for TuneIn’s that featured none other than Dipset’s own, Cam’ron!

For as much as we make sure to take full advantage of this festival every year to discover new sounds and find new bands to follow, we always make time to show some love to our favorite Chicago acts playing down in ATX.

So if you’re going to be in Austin, Texas this coming week to attend the massive festival, these are the artists from our hometown that you definitely need to check out. Mic Terror FPD Release Party

On The Grind Management Presents: Mic Terror’s Fresh Prince of Darkness release party.

The much-anticipated release of Mic Terror’s latest work will finally arrive this year and to help commemorate the occasion OTG will be holding a release party with performances by Treated Crew, The Cool Kids, Saint Millie and Taylor Bennett. The night will also hear additional music from Million $ Mano, VIP J, Matt Boy White, Manny Muscles and DJ RTC.

The release party will take place this upcoming March 7th at the Hard Rock Cafe, located on 63 W Ontario in downtown Chicago. Tickets $20 in advance/$25 door ($5 off at the door with your proof of purchase of FPD). 18+ to enter, show starts at 10pm.
