The Arcs – “Outta My Mind”

posted by Oscar June 29, 2015

Dan Auerbach’s The Arcs kicked off the day premiering new song “Outta My Mind.” The latest tune from The Black Keys’ guitarist’s side project can be summarized as this: pure sexiness. The riff is as good anything you’d hear from the Keys but with a raunchy crunch and a little less Blues.

“Outta My Mind” will be released as a 7-inch single alongside non-LP track “My Mind” on July 10th; the debut album Yours, Dreamily will be released on September 4th through Nonesuch Records. Hear the new song below. Continue Reading

Catfish & The Bottlemen – “Black Skinhead” [Kanye West Cover] (Live for BBC Radio 1)

posted by Oscar February 9, 2015

Fuck, this is good! We first came across the band Catfish & The Bottlemen through their triple j appearance during which they covered The Killers. Today we come to learn that they have made another buzzworthy cover, this time for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, covering none other than Kanye West’s “Black Skinhead.”

The C&TB cover features mashups of the Yeezus single with the Black Keys’ “Howlin’ For You” and Kasabian’s “Shoot The Runner.” The semi-acoustic cover version is just as killer and thunderous as Kanye’s, somehow, and it has instantly become a favorite of mine from all that the Live Lounge has released recently. Check it out above.
