The Chicago stalwart and SoX members kicked things off with Coloring Book‘s “Juke Jam,” followed by his reciting his new poem called “The Other Side” (including an interruption via an intercom in the building), and concluding with a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “They Won’t Go When I Go.”

posted by Oscar March 1, 2016

Last week we got a teaser clip of Jack White’s appearance on the season finale of ABC’s The Muppets in which we saw White and Kermit the sing along to “It’s Not Easy Being Green” and “Fell In Love With a Girl.” Today we got another clip from that episode, and on it we see White perform a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” which he does with a little help from the Muppets and their house band the Electric Mayhem.

White’s Third Man Records are slated to release the cover on vinyl, but you can also hear it on Apple Music now too.

Video: Prince and Stevie Wonder Perform “Supertition” Together in DC

posted by Oscar June 15, 2015

President Obama and the First Lady held a special private concert at the White House over the weekend that featured celebrities like Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson with Ciara, Jon Bon Jovi, James Taylor, Tyler Perry, and others. At that show, “the Purple One” joined fellow legend Stevie Wonder for a performance of the latter’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours.”

That private event led the way for another live collaboration by these two at one of Prince’s two sold-out shows at Warner Theatre, during which they played another Stevie track in “Superstition.” Check out the fan footage of that awesome performance above.

Video: 2015 Grammys Performances feat. AC/DC, Pharrell, Kanye West

posted by Oscar February 8, 2015

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards took place tonight, awarding the best music had to offer in every genre possible. But the Grammy Awards is much more about the ceremony’s live performances than the awards themselves, and this year there were plenty of big moments that won’t soon be forgotten.

Veteran Rock Stars AC/DC kicked things off with their first live performance together in half a decade, doing live renditions of their latest hit single “Rock Or Bust” and their classic song “Highway To Hell.” The 3 hour-plus event featured 23 performances from the likes of Pharrell, Sia, Ariana Grande, and the live debut of the Kanye-Rihanna-McCartney collaboration “FourFiveSeconds” (above).

We’ve compiled the best of the ceremony and you can see those performances below. Continue Reading

Lucki Eck$ feat. Chance The Rapper – “Stevie Wonder”

posted by Oscar December 14, 2014

Lucki Ecks - Stevie Wonder

Chicago collaborations at a new level!

Windy City rappers Lucki Eck$ connected with Chance the Rapper for the former’s new track “Stevie Wonder.” The Chicago connections continue in the credits as this one’s produced by none other than Young Chop and Plu2o Nash, along with Chano himself and his band The Social Experiment.

The best thing about this is that we get to see how the sounds of Young Chop and Plu2o Nash come together with the band element of The SoX crew.

If there’s one line to summarize what these guys must be feeling about this track it’s when Chance says: “I can’t see a thing in my zone!” Hear the new track below. Continue Reading

Video: Pharrell, Dave Grohl, Stevie Wonder, Lorde + more Cover “God Only Knows”

posted by Oscar October 7, 2014

To help promote their newly launched BBC Music site, the British Broadcasting Corporation brought together some of the world’s biggest talents to record one of the world’s most beautiful songs (and a personal all-time favorite), The Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows.”

The ensemble cast for this one boasts stars from the 60’s and on, including Pharrell, Elton John, Lorde, Chris Martin (Coldplay), Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine), Stevie Wonder, Brian May (Queen), One Direction, Dave Grohl, Sam Smith and the mastermind behind the original, Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson.

The cover is not exactly that in a traditional sense, since each artist barely gets about a line to perform, but it doesn’t sound half bad. You can also check a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the clip here.

Big Boi feat. Kid Cudi & Stevie Wonder – “Part Time Hater”

Big Boi Kid Cudi - Part Time Hater

In Big Boi’s last installment of his #MashupMondays series, the OutKast man mashed together Kid Cudi’s “She Hates Me” with Stevie Wonder’s “Part Time Lover.” Stevie’s song is the backbone and it works as the perfect foundation to Big Boi’s lyrics and Cudder’s hook.

Video: Grammy Salute to The Beatles Performances

The Beatles

The people behind the Grammys put together a very fitting tribute to the greatest band ever, 50 years to the date of the night The Beatles first performed for America. With some background info on each member’s early days before becoming world stars and some insights from the 2 remaining members talking to David Letterman about that famous performance, the tribute special was a complete spectacle thanks to the main attraction being the music itself. Guest stars performing Beatles classics included Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Imagine Dragons, Dave Grohl, Gary Clark, Jr., Alicia Keys and John Legend, among many others and we even got performances from surviving members Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney. See them all below.

Linkin Park Perform “Burn It Down” Live at the 2012 American Music Awards

The pseudo-Rap Rockers Linkin Park played a solid live rendition at last night’s (11/18/12) 2012 American Music Awards.

Linkin Park were the only Rock band to play the award show, which was heavy on the Pop acts like Pitbull, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha and a ridiculously cheesy performance of “Gangnam Style” by PSY with special guest MC Hammer.

The only other performance worth a watch would be Stevie Wonder’s Tribute To Dick Clark.
