POD Photos: JMBLYA 2017

posted by Ruben May 8, 2017

JMBLYA 2017 in Austin, TX took place over the weekend and we were part of the lucky crowd that witnessed a great collection of talent from throughout the Hip Hop world hit the stage to do what they do best.

Pursuit Of Dopeness was present to capture some of the highlights, encapsulating moments from the performances of the likes of Chance The Rapper, Lil Uzi Vert, Steve Aoki, Migos, and Pell. You can see those pictures in the gallery below.

Some of the best things that went down at JMBLYA included Lil Uzi showing off his showmanship once more by climbing the stage and performing from there, Steve Aoki (obviously) throwing cake into the crowd [still cool every time] and debuting a new single with Migos called “Night Call,” Gucci (sorry, was too lit so I couldn’t take any good pics) inviting Bun B and Migos to perform with him, and Chano performing his own version of “Waves” along with doing his part from the no. 1 hit “I’m The One.” It was also dope having Chance The Rapper invite the crowd to join him in celebrating what he was dubbing “National Acid Rap Week.”

Check out the pictures I took below. Continue Reading

North Coast 2015 Lineup

Big news today from another one of our favorite festivals in the Windy City… North Coast Music Festival has announced its lineup and it boasts The Chemical Brothers as well as D’Angelo and The Vanguard as its headliners. The third main act on the bill was described in the press release as “a very special SURPRISE ROCK HEADLINER” that will be announced on Tuesday, May 12. This is the same fest that brought the very awesome Gary Clark Jr. in 2013, so it’s safe to say that it will surely be another big one this year.

The Dopeness continues further down the poster with The Roots, Atmosphere, Chromeo, Wale, The Glitch Mob, and Steve Aoki also on this year’s roster.

Shout outs to POD favorites The O’My’s and Lili K for also making the list of great artists coming to Union Park this Labor Day weekend (Sep. 4-6). This is another fest we can’t afford to miss this year.

Tickets are on sale now at www.northcoastfestival.com!

*Look out for the “North Coast After Parties” announcement in the coming weeks.
