My favorite #SXSW Discovery..

     The Brooklyn based rock band The Skins immediately caught my attention at SXSW. I saw them perform at SXSW SOB’S 33RD Anniversary Show. Not only did they look badass but they also wowed the crowd with their kick ass sound.

The band is made up of siblings  Bayli, Reef, Kaya Mckeithan, & their friends; Daisy Spencer & Rusell Chell. I didn’t know that at the show but after digging their set I had to do my research. They all clearly vibe together & feel their own music. The ladies on vocals killed it & they had amazing guitarists & a drummer to match.

I almost felt like they brought Rock n Roll back to life for me. Continue Reading

The Smashing Pumpkins - Oceania

It can be said that The Smashing Pumpkins may not be who they used to be, but after listening to their latest album that line mostly applies to their physical lineup rather than their sound. Their latest album, Oceania, is a very welcomed blast from the past with a batch of new songs that take us back to the band’s most prolific time. The new album is said to be a continuation of the band’s ongoing 44-song concept album, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, was produced by bandleader Billy Corgan and Bjorn Thorsrud. Continue Reading
