The Original Misfits (Glenn Danzig + Jerry Only) are Reuniting for Riot Fest 2016

Misfits 2016 Reunion

2016 has been a wild year for music, plagued with shocking deaths of many of our heroes including Prince and David Bowie. But there have been some shining moments, including the surprise reunion of original Guns N’ Roses members Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan for their “Not In This Lifetime” tour.

Today we get another major reunion to try and help 2016 redeem itself: THE ORIGINAL MISFITS REUNITE! Original members Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only will finally come together again as the Misfits. They will be joined by long-time guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein to share a stage for the very first time since 1983!!! 33 fucking years. Not only that, but they will be doing so as headliners at Riot Fest in Denver & Chicago!

Riot Fest 2014 Dates Announced

posted by Oscar April 17, 2014

Riot Fest 2014

One of our favorite music festivals, Riot Fest, has announced its 10th anniversary tour dates for 2014. The new release promises “more bands, more rides, and expanded footprints in all 3 cities and special surprises and attractions in Chicago in celebration of its 10th anniversary.”

Riot Fest will be hitting Toronto, CAN September 6-7, our hometown September 12-14 and Denver September 19-21.

The release also states:

Riot Fest & Travelling Exposition takes place in Toronto, where it will be expanded to include a carnival, more stages, more music, and more good times. Riot Fest & Sideshow will hit Denver again this year with capital improvements including a redesigned camping area and renovations to the grounds that includes parking. Traffic plans will be revised for faster flow in and out.

Now all we have to do is wait and see what big names make the lineup this year, so stay tuned.

Events: Riot Fest 2013 Lineup [Update]

posted by Oscar May 15, 2013

Festival lineup announcements are being made seemingly every other week, and now it’s Riot Fest’s turn. The formal announcement will be made later tonight at 10PM CT, so stay tuned for that later. and highlights include Fall Out Boy and Blink 182.

I attended Riot Fest last year when the lineup included Rise Against, Coheed & Cambria, Gogol Bordello, the Offspring and Iggy & the Stooges plus others. If this year’s fest boasts a lineup that can compare to the last one, Riot Fest 2013 will surely be another great Chicago music festival.

The Festival running from September 13-15 in Chicago’s Humboldt Park will also have Motörhead, Rancid, AFI, Blondie, Public Enemy and Violent Femmes.

See the lineup below. Continue Reading
