N.E.R.D. Return with “Lemon,” feat. Rihanna

posted by Oscar November 1, 2017

Yoooo…. N.E.R.D. are back! Huge, huge news today as the group have shared their new song “Lemon,” and it features an artist as iconic as them: Rihanna.

Their first new song since 2014, “Lemon” is a demonstration of how dope these guys operate as they produce a beat constructed of layers of percussion, with a simple and slightly distorted “wait a minute” sample adding a lil flavor. Riri drops bars like a seasoned MC too! This sounds like retro Hip Hop and I can already see this killing it in the clubs.

Check it out below, via its accompanying music video, directed by Todd Tourso + Scott Cudmore. Continue Reading

See Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna’s Video for “LOYALTY.”

posted by Oscar July 28, 2017

Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna’s collaboration is one of the best from the rapper’s excellent 2017 album, DAMN., so it was only right that these two had to do something exceptional for the “LOYALTY.” music video. The short film-like video was directed Dave Meyers and it features both artists in some bizarre scenes that include asphalt that plays like quicksand, sharks in that asphalt, K.Dot and Riri hanging on I-beams, and even a mob-worthy scene that includes an execution.

Check out the visual from the cut off Kendrick’s double Platinum album above.

Tinashe Remixes Rihanna’s “Sex With Me”

posted by Oscar September 2, 2016

Tinashe - Sex With Me

Tinashe has released her remix of Rihanna’s ANTI bonus track, “Sex With Me.” The production stays faithful to Riri’s, but Tinashe switches things up with a vocal delivery that is a lot smoother and sensuous than the Barbadian queen’s aggressively sexual tones. The young Kentucky songstress also notes that sex with her is rather exclusive, too.

Check out the remix below. Continue Reading

Video: Rihanna – “Needed Me”

posted by Oscar April 20, 2016

Rihanna stays on top of the world now with the release of more material for her legion of fans to enjoy. RiRi’s new video for “Needed Me” was directed by Harmony Korine and on these NSFW visuals we see the sultry singer be a real menace with a see-through robe on and a gun equipped with a silencer firmly in hand as she looks out at the shores of her kingdom.

There’s also a major strip scene, where that silencer really gets to put to use. Check it out above.
