Real Madrid and adidas Reveal New 2017/18 Kits

posted by Oscar June 14, 2017

The biggest team in the world today, Real Madrid have unveiled their new kits for the forthcoming 2017/18 season. The club’s latest jerseys were inspired by the club’s loyal fans – the Madridistas – and the city of Madrid.

The current title-holders of the most recent editions of the Spanish La Liga and the Champions League, Real Madrid are set to defend their crowns in the new kits. The Home jersey, in its iconic white, features the introduction of sky blue stripes and branding that was inspired by the Madrid sky to represent the connection between the club and the city. A memorial stamp at the bottom of the jersey commemorates the club’s 115-year anniversary.

The new away jersey draws inspiration from previous black Madrid kits worn by the club in some of its most successful moments. The jersey continues the theme of the home kit with a new trim color – this time with turquoise green stripes. The Real Madrid logo is re-imagined in turquoise green with a neon effect to stand out against the black.

Real Madrid 2015-2016 Home & Away Kits, by adidas

posted by Oscar June 15, 2015

Real Madrid 2015-2016 Home Kit

Spanish giants Real Madrid and adidas today present the new kits for the team’s 2015-2016 season. The new kits are meant to follow a theme of “only perfect counts,” an idea embodied in the color combinations of the new home and away kits.

The Home shirt is in its customary white and it is combined with silver grey in the three stripes of the shirt. Inside the neck you’ll find the club crest with the inscription “hala madrid y nada más” (“Come on Madrid and nothing else,” from the club anthem) in silver grey. The crest stands out on the white and grey and displays the traditional colors of the club in a high-density, heat-sealed execution with different textures.

The new Away kit ditches the bright pink used last year for the silver grey used as an accent in the Home kit. The metallic tone was used as an homage to all the trophies that Real Madrid has won throughout its rich history and all the trophies it strives to win. This color is called Silver Glory and represents all of the trophies that Real Madrid has conquered, woven into a unique and unequalled shirt.

Real Madrid 2014-15 Third Kit, by Adidas

posted by Oscar August 26, 2014

Real Madrid 2014-15 Third Kit

The 2014-15 season is well underway but it still served as a good enough time for adidas to unveil this year’s third kit for Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

The alternate uniform for this season is a return to black and will be the club’s UEFA Champions League kit. The all-black look was designed by Japanese design revolutionary and long term adidas collaborator Yohji Yamamoto, making this a collaboration between a global design legend and one of the biggest clubs in the world. 1500 jerseys will be available on selected retailers worldwide and will come in an exclusive packaging (1200 PCS in handmade commemorative box and 300 PCS with an exclusive dragon egg packaging). The exclusive jerseys themselves bear the Yohji Yamamoto’s personal signature and the number 3 representing the iconic three stripes of adidas.

According to the news release:

The design collaboration aims to unify the values of Madridismo focused on its two main elements, greatness and determination. Both elements are represented by two mythical beasts which originate from the Eastern culture and are interlaced on the front of the shirt.

Dragon king symbolizes the greatness, glory and power of the club. Dragon bird, an animal that is able to relive in the most hostile situations, represents the clubs resistance, determination and agility on its way to the victory

David Beckham Announces Retirement; See His Top 10 Moments

posted by Oscar May 16, 2013

Goodbye Beckham

After Paul Scholes and Sir Alex Ferguson called it quits over the last week, it’s now the turn of yet another Manchester United legend to announce his retirement… David Beckham, or “Golden Balls,”as he famously known, will be making the big move away from the pitch at season’s end. The former England, Manchester United and Real Madrid stalwart played most recently for Paris Saint-Germain where he helped the French side obtain another league championship.

“Becks” also played for AC Milan and LA Galaxy in the U.S.A.’s MLS, winning league titles everywhere he went (except Italy). While he didn’t have the most versatile profiles as a player, the man had a blessed right foot that gave the world of soccer some real awesome moments that will surely be remembered for ages. Soccer: (Week 8) Goals of the Week

Rafael (Manchester United) vs. QPR

We were treated to a lot of excellent goals around the world this weekend. I may be biased with my choice for top goal of the week, with my being a big Manchester United fan, but Rafael’s goal over QPR was just gorgeous! A power shot (with his “weak” foot!) that went into the top corner like a missile earned its spot on this list and may very well find its way on some “Goal Of The Year” lists later on. Second place this week? That’s a bit more difficult with the goals scored by Papis Cisse, Berbatov and Kaká.

Although most of the attention this weekend went to the All-Star game and His Airness’ birthday, there was still plenty of action around the world for The Beautiful Game. This week we’ve got goals from Liga MX (Mexico), Serie A (Italy) and England’s FA Cup, among others. The best goal, arguably, is the one above showing Angel Reyna’s scorcher from way out to give his team the lead over Cruz Azul.

Last week we had the benefit of having an additional fixture of soccer thanks to the midweek matches due to World Cup qualifiers and international friendlies. The goal above, easily the best of last week, came out of the midweek match between the USA and Honduras in which the Honduran player scored an absolute scorcher of a bicycle kick goal.
