Video: Chance The Rapper Performs at the White House Tree Lighting Ceremony

posted by Oscar December 2, 2016

Last night President Barack Obama and his family hosted their National Christmas Tree Lighting. For that ceremony, the POTUS recruited artists like Kelly Clarkson, Yolanda Adams, James Taylor, Marc Anthony, the Lumineers, and our homie Chance The Rapper to perform throughout the night. Prez Obama’s long-time pal Chano and The Social Experiment played their song “Sunday Candy,” a clip of which you can catch above.

After that, the president paid back the favor and commanded the mic to lead some more traditional Christmas caroling as all of the night’s performers provided backing vocals and danced along. Check out the full ceremony below. Continue Reading

President Obama Shares Two Vacation Playlists on Spotify

posted by Oscar August 14, 2015

Barack Obama

Have you ever wanted to party like a president? It’s highly likely that definitely won’t ever find out what that’s like, but at least you can jam to music a president would enjoy…

Today our über-cool president took to Twitter share a couple of “vacation playlists” with some of his favorite summer songs including classics by Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Howlin’ Wolf, The Rolling Stones, John Coltrane, and Aretha Franklin, among others.

But don’t let Barry O’s age fool you, the president’s playlists also included more contemporary sounds including songs by Coldplay, Nappy Roots, John Legend with André 3000, Mos Def, Justin Timberlake, and Florence + The Machine. There’s even some Latin tracks on this (!!) including Mala Rodriguez’s “Tengo Un Trato” and Sonora Carruseles’ “La Salsa La Traigo Yo.”

Stream both of President Obama’s playlists below via Spotify. Continue Reading

Video: See President Obama’s Remarks, feat. “Anger Translator” Luther, at the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner

posted by Oscar April 26, 2015

The 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner took place last night and once again it shined a light on just how cool and hilarious the POTUS is.

One of the biggest moments of the night came when President Obama connected with Keegan-Michael Key to recreate the latter’s famous Key & Peele bit, making use of Key’s character Luther, AKA Obama’s “anger translator.” The duo tackled subjects like global warming deniers, the “nerd prom” and campaign spending, finishing off with some mighty incensed material that Luther himself had no further thing to add. Check out that excerpt above.

Below you can find the hilarious 20-minute plus remarks made by the president, along with host Cecily Strong’s remarks. Strong’s topics like The Secret Service, Vice President Joe Biden’s massages and Hillary Clinton’s email fiasco. Continue Reading

Video: President Obama on Zach Galiflianakis’ ‘Between Two Ferns’

posted by Oscar March 11, 2014

Zach Galiflianakis’ awesomely awkward Between Two Ferns landed its highest-profile guest with none other than President Barack Obama. Galiflianakis dry jabs and nonsensical questions at his guests were more than present in this episode like “how does it feel to be the last black President?” and “why would you get the guy who created the Zune to make your website?” But Mr. President could hold his own as well with replies like “If I ran a third time, it’d sort of be like doing a third Hangover movie. Didn’t really work out very well, did it?”

This one’s definitely an interview well worth watching; see it above via Funny Or Die.
