It’s that time of year again for one of the most venerable music festivals in the country to take place and for the first time ever, we at POD will finally be able to cover Pitchfork Fest. This annual concert is notorious for putting together awesome lineups that anyone that follows the music blogosphere would admire and this year is no different.

As we prepare for the weekend, we have compiled a list of the best artists to see live at Union Park… with the catch being that these are artists that we haven’t yet seen perform live. The point behind that is that we get around a bit… and well you probably already know how we feel about the almost-legendary ascents to fame by Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa along with our affinity for the likes of Vince Staples, Run The Jewels, and Freddie Gibbs & Madlib.

Pitchfork Festival Full 2014 Lineup [Update]

The latest music festival to announce their lineup is Chicago’s Pitchfork Festival. Held July 18-20 at Union Park, the three fest headliners are Beck, the recently reunited Neutral Milk Hotel and Kendrick Lamar. Some of the other notable acts to make up the list are Giorgio Moroder, Death Grips, Pusha T and Grimes. See the initial list above and be on the lookout for the rest of the artists when they’re announced in the coming months.

UPDATE (3/20/14)

So the initial list was impressive enough to get people riled up for the festival with the names mentioned in the paragraph above, today we get the official lineup for P4K 2014 and it delivers plenty more for fans to get excited about. Added to the list are St. Vincent, Danny Brown, Schoolboy Q, Earl Sweatshirt, Cloud Nothings, Perfect Pussy, Dum Dum Girls and Twin Peaks.

Tickets for the 2014 Pitchfork Music Festival are on sale now. Three-day passes are available for $130 and single day passes are $60. Get your three-day passes ASAP because they do sell out quickly.
