This past weekend we were able to attend the 2017 edition of 101WKQX’s all-day concert event, PIQNIQ. The lineup was stacked, as per usual, rounding up acts like Highly Suspect, Sum 41, Stabbing Westward, Jimmy Eat World, Bleachers, and headlined by The 1975. We were lucky enough to be in attendance and see what our favorite Alternative station had in store for us this year, and even better, we got to shoot photography throughout the day to encapsulate some of the best moments. 101WKQX’s 2017 PIQNIQ Festival Lineup Announced feat. The 1975, Bleachers, Jimmy Eat World, Highly Suspect

Earlier today, Chicago’s favorite Alternative station, 101WKQX have announced the lineup for their annual PIQNIQ Festival…. and it’s arguably their best to date! At the top of the 2017 roster are The 1975 and Bleachers, followed by Highly Suspect and Sum 41. Seriously, all are POD favorites, and somehow they’re all performing at the same show (!!!).

Not only does the lineup also feature Joywave, K. Flay, and Warpaint, but there is still one more further up the ranks that is yet to be announced; stay tuned for that.

The PIQNIQ 2016 lineup has been revealed and this year we will Garbage headline the festival. Also performing this year for the 101WKQX event are The Lumineers, Young The Giant, Robert Delong, Lucius, and more. PIQNIQ 2016 will take place June 18th at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.

The Early Bird pre-sale begins today at 10 am with tickets as low as $20 (Pre-sale Password: BEAR) and willThursday, April 14th at 10pm. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Friday, April 15th at 10am!

101WKQX’s PIQNIQ Festival 2015 feat. Cage The Elephant, The Offspring, Bleachers

is back! The annual festival put together by our city’s main Rock station 101WKQX will follow up the 2014 edition with Cage The Elephant, The Offspring, Bleachers, and Catfish and the Bottlemen. Also playing are Saint Motel and Smallpools, with another band set to be announced at a later time.

PIQNIQ 2015 will take place Saturday, June, 6th at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater. Special Junkie Early Bird pre-sale ticket options include the PIT for $79 (limited supplies), pavilion tickets ranging $20-42, and Lawn tickets for $20 or  $60 for a 4-pack!

The newly branded 101 WKQX (formerly Q87.7) has announced this year’s headliners for their annual PIQNIQ festival. The first three bands revealed for this already make it a must-see show in Chicago this summer: Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars, & AFI!! More bands will be announced in the coming days.

Recap: Q87.7’s PIQNIQ Festival

Chicago’s new home for Alternative Rock on the traditional airwaves, Q87.7, put together a one-day music festival that featured AWOLNATION, Sileversun Pickups, Atlas Genius, Bush and headlined by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The bands mentioned previously fronted the main stage at First Midwest Bank Amphiheatre, while bands like New Politics, Twenty|One|Pilots and Cold War Kids performed at the secondary stage. No offense to these bands (we heard Twenty|One|Pilots from the parking lot and Cold War Kids played at the same time Atlas Genius started, so we skipped that) but we prioritized downing some Modelo tallboys and then just head in by the time the main stage bands started.
