Palma Violets – “Last Christmas on Planet Earth”

posted by Oscar December 1, 2015

Palma Violets help kick off the holiday season by releasing their video for “Last Christmas on Planet Earth” on the first day of December 2015. The visuals zero in on a drunken faux Santa Claus, wasted out of his mind, stumbles in to where the band is chilling and croaks, leaving the group with no choice but to find a way to dispose of it because they still had a gig to play! Check it out above.

“Last Christmas On Planet Earth” will be released on 12/11 on a limited edition 7″ via Rough Trade. Pre-order it here.

Video: Palma Violets – “English Tongue”

UK band Palma Violets have released the visuals to their latest single “English Tongue.” The Folk-y track gets an excellent music video in which we see a somewhat maniacal reverend trot the streets of London before leading the band to rock out in a church.

The Palma Violets sophomore LP Danger in the Club will be released May 5th on Rough Trade Records.

Palma Violets have unveiled a new cut from forthcoming album Danger In The Club. The new song is the Folk-y “English Tongue.”

Talking to FADER, frontman Sam Fryer said:

“‘English Tongue’ is the last song we wrote for the album… We thought it sounded like an American country folk song with English lyrics and emotion. Then the name and character of Hugh Diver appeared, a man tied down by the pressures of fame and religion.”

The band’s new album, Danger in the Club, will be released via Rough Trade on May 5th. Hear “English Tongue” below. Continue Reading

Just a day after releasing their latest song, Palma Violets have released the visuals for “Danger In The Club.” The new music video was directed by Roger Sargent and it makes use of the song title to showcase how shitty it can be to be out at club as the band plays in the back of the bar; check it out above.

“Danger In The Club” is the title track from Palma Violets’ second album, due out May 4th (worldwide) and 5th (US) May on Rough Trade Records.
