Hear a Demo of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”

posted by Oscar January 7, 2018

To help us celebrate what would have been David Bowie’s 71st birthday tomorrow, Parlophone Records have shared a previously unreleased early demo of his 1983 hit single “Let’s Dance.”

As the Facebook post announcing the demo states, Nile Rodgers had visited Bowie in late 1982 and feeling inspired by the new songs the latter had written, started working on “Let’s Dance.” Rodgers also exclaimed: “This demo gives you, the fans, a bird’s eye view of the very start of it! I woke up on my first morning in Montreux with David peering over me. He had an acoustic guitar in his hands and exclaimed, ‘Nile, darling, I think this is a HIT!'”

Hear the newly released demo below. We still miss you, DB. Continue Reading

One of the main factors that made Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories so awesome was the guitar work of Disco master Nile Rodgers, who contributed on “Get Lucky” and “Lose Yourself To Dance.”

Chic’s impending return with a new album has led Rodgers becoming subject of a new French documentary called Nile Rodgers: From Disco to Daft Punk. Daft Punk pay tribute the iconic guitarist and in the video above you see the French electronic artists pay homage to him. Check it.

The official video to Daft Punk’s “Lose Yourself To Dance” has finally arrived. Featuring Nile Rodgers and the man behind the biggest hits of 2013, Pharrell, the visuals are very straightforward yet still fun. If you thought the song sounded Disco, the video further plays to your assessment by recreating a 70’s dancing variety show-type performance with the group on a small stage and a crowd of people dancing around them.
