Paris Saint Germain 2015-16 Home Kit

For the 2015-16 season, Paris Saint-Germain’s modern and stylish new home kit is designed to reflect the team’s growing status in both French and European soccer. The jersey is sleek and it combines PSG’s traditional home colors of blue, red and white, respectively representing the club’s core values of grandeur, respect and passion.

The home shirt features a navy blue body with the French team’s iconic red stripe, now with white trim on either side, coming down the center. The big difference from last year’s jersey is its dark blue shoulders and sleeves designed to create a powerful and physically imposing look, with stripes in this color running down each of the shirt’s flanks. Inside the neck reads the proud club statement, “ICI C’EST PARIS” (“Here it’s Paris”).

The Paris-Saint Germain home kit will be available exclusively via the Nike Football App on May 23, and on sale in stores and at nike.com starting May 27. See a gallery of the new PSG Home kit below. Continue Reading

The Netherlands Away Kit 2015, by Nike

Netherlands 2015 Away Kit

The Netherlands and Nike have unveiled the new 2015 Away kit. The new shirt is white with their iconic oranje seen on the team crest and Nike swoosh. The Dutch are renowned for their speed and attacking style of play, moving the ball around the pitch quickly and surging forward at pace. The kit design represents the speed, movement and energy of the national team and combines innovative graphics with the iconic classic Dutch color palette of orange and white.

The shorts feature a printed gradient speed graphic consisting of orange and white light rays, which extends up the side panels of the shirt to represent their distinctive style of football. The innovative graphic on the shorts creates a strong sense of motion and a blur of color and light when the Dutch players are in action. The color in the graphic is most intense in the middle and the deep hue comes together near the waist on the shorts and on the hem of the shirt before gradually becoming lighter down the shorts and up to under the arms of the shirt.

The white base of the away shirt amplifies the famous saturated orange of the home shirt in the graphic, crest and numbers. The renowned Dutch graphic designer and typographer Wim Crouwel created a special font for the names and numbers on the kit. The bold and modern font also maintains a distinctly retro appearance, reminiscent of the style seen throughout football during the 1970s. The away shirt continues to feature the enlarged lion symbolizing Dutch football values of simplicity, honor and unity. A pennant tab inside the back of the neck displays the crown that sits upon the lion’s head on their association’s crest.

The shirt also boasts a new Nike-specific streamlined, clean and modern V–neck collar in white with an orange triangle insert.

The new away socks are white with a wide tonal stripe of chevrons on the calf at the back.

The new away kit will be available in stores and at nike.com starting March 21. See more shots below.

Portugal 2015-16 Away Kit

Nike has unveiled the 2015-16 Away Kit for the Portuguese National Team. The new shirt is predominantly black with a unique new chest band graphic consisting of electric green and vivid red light ray flashes, a nod to the team’s fast-paced style of play.

The green and red flashes draw inspiration from the Portuguese national flag and give the effect of having been painted on the black canvas of the away shirt. The two colors move in different directions, the red from the right and the green from the left.

Inside the back of the neck, a pennant tab features an armillary sphere, an ancient navigational device, to represent Portugal’s seafaring history. Celebrated Portuguese explorers used armillary spheres to travel around the globe. The tool has been a national symbol for more than 500 years and rests behind the Portuguese shield on the national flag.

The new away kit will be available in stores and at nike.com starting March 21. See more pictures in the gallery below.

US Away Kit 2014

Today saw the unveiling of the new Away kit that the US Men’s & Women’s National Teams will be using in 2014. Designed by Nike, the new kit is a bold change from what we were used to seeing in recent memory for the U.S.A. The shirt sports a modern crew-neck collar with three bands the color of the American flag.

The base color of the jersey and the cuff of the sleeves feature a prominent red. The upper torso and top sleeves include a bold blue tone, and a white chest band extends over the middle of both sleeves.

To help with the announcement of the new shirt, the U.S. Soccer Federation got help from members of the team like Clint Dempsey and Sydney Leroux, former US international Alexi Lalas, and non-soccer stars like football players Andrew Luck and Ndamukong Suh; skateboarders Eric Koston and Sean Malto; track and field gold medalist Allyson Felix; music producer Diplo; musicians HAIM; and filmmaker Spike Lee.

The new U.S. National Team Away Kit is available at Nike stores and on nike.com beginning April 1. See more pics below. Continue Reading

Netherlands Away 2014 4

Nike Football/Soccer has unveiled the 2014 Away Kit The Netherlands will be wearing at the World Cup with the help of Joël Veltman, Davy Klaassen and Jean-Paul Boëtius at Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. The new jersey features a unique and very dope design influenced by Dutch culture.

The shirt has:

“… an isometric grid pattern of interlocking chevrons that start at the top as bright blue and gradually become darker, ending as imperial purple at the hem.

The pattern has a glow and depth, representing the prominence of water in Dutch life and the country’s landscape.

The blue in the pattern signifies the Dutch royal family and the color of the cross that appears in their official flag.”

This one, paired with the home kit, assures that The Netherlands will undoubtedly be one of the best national squads at the World Cup. See more pics below. Continue Reading

125th Anniversary Dutch Home Kit Strootman

Not only is 2014 the year we get another edition of the FIFA World Cup, but it also marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of The Netherlands’ soccer federation. The new design not only features a new look for the shirt itself, but it also comes with a whole new crest to represent the KNBV (Royal Dutch Football Association). The crest for the 2014 kit is a white lion that’s meant to symbolize a new era in Dutch soccer and, according to the Nike release, also represents “the team’s core values of simplicity, honor and unity.”

The V-neck collar is a classic look for a soccer jersey and, in overall terms, it is a beautiful shirt fit for one of the best teams in the sport. I honestly would love to add this one to my collection.
