Video: Paul McCartney and Neil Young Perform Beatles Songs at Desert Trip

posted by Oscar October 9, 2016

The second night of the inaugural Desert Trip festival featured Paul McCartney and Neil Young on the same bill. During McCartney’s set he recruited Young to help him play some Beatles classics together.

The pair did Sgt. Pepper’s “A Day In The Life,” which gave way to John Lennon’s “Give Peace A Chance.” McCartney and Young also played the White Album‘s “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road,” which was the first time the former Beatle performed the track live. See the latter, played in an extended and lavish manner, below. Continue Reading

Video: Pearl Jam ft. Win Butler [Arcade Fire] – “Rockin’ In The Free World” (Live at Perth’s Big Day Out)

posted by Oscar February 4, 2014

Veteran rockers, Pearl Jam were performing “down under” at Perth’s Big Day Out festival and during their live rendition of Neil Young’s classic “Rockin’ In The Free World,” Arcade Fire lead singer Win Butler joined them onstage. Two of my favorite artists for sure, but definitely an unlikely pairing that I would have never figured would be possible. At least it all came out looking and sounding as cool as you can imagine.
