The second night of the inaugural Desert Trip festival featured Paul McCartney and Neil Young on the same bill. During McCartney’s set he recruited Young to help him play some Beatles classics together.
The pair did Sgt. Pepper’s “A Day In The Life,” which gave way to John Lennon’s “Give Peace A Chance.” McCartney and Young also played the White Album‘s “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road,” which was the first time the former Beatle performed the track live.
