Nike and the NBA Release City Edition Uniforms

posted by Oscar December 27, 2017

The NBA’s move to Nike has delivered its latest rewards by way of a fourth uniform category under their uniform Editions initiative this season.

Celebrating elements of the league’s 30 franchises, The City Edition designs honor the teams’ hometowns and its legends. Some of my personal favorites include the Chicago Bulls design seen above that was inspired by our iconic city flag, the Celtics incorporating parquet floor of “The Garden” into its grey jersey, and Phillie’s patriotic details like a parchment paper-inspired base color and script that mimics the original Declaration of Independence.

The Lakers’ jersey went in a different direction by instead creating designs that pay tribute to franchise legends as part of the “Lore Series.”

Lil Uzi Vert’s “Do What I Want” Stars in New Russell Westbrook Jordan Commercial

posted by Luis Hernandez October 27, 2016

If you even remotely follow the NBA, you know the ongoing feud between Russell Westbrook & Kevin Durant since he left for Golden State. The two have been throwing shade in the past months and this new Jordan commercial adds even more fuel to the fire. Shoutout to Jordan, who used the perfect song to depict Russell’s mood now that he is the main man in OKC. This also is a great look for Lil Uzi Vert, as this commercial will get millions of views in the next few months. All in all, this is a win for both parties, who come together to make the most entertaining commercial of 2016. I promise you won’t watch this only once!

The NBA and adidas Unveil the 2015 NBA Christmas Day Games Uniforms

Christmas Day Jersey 2015 Laydown Horizontal

They finally got it right! The NBA and adidas have unveiled the special edition uniforms that the select teams playing on Christmas Day 2015 will be sporting. Last year’s designs weren’t too bad but they were just a tad bit too off for some of us, but these are on point.

According to adidas:

Designed as part of the adidas NBA Season’s Greetings Collection, the uniforms continue the tradition of introducing new and unique elements each season. This year’s uniforms incorporate primary team colors and cream tones, while player names and numbers are showcased in holiday-style script and detailed with woven rows of stitching. A scarlet NBA seal is also displayed on the back of the jersey as a nod to holiday greeting cards.

Other items on the “Season’s Greetings Collection” includes a special-edition Swingman jersey, women’s Replica jersey, on-court shooting shirt, T-shirt, snapback and knit beanie with prices ranging from $28-$110. and will be available this weekend on NBAStore.com and NBAStore.eu. Jerseys will also be available at select team and other retailers.

Shut up and take my money! Check out more pictures of the uniforms below. Continue Reading

NBA Reveals 2014 Christmas Day Jerseys

2014 NBA Christmas Day Jerseys

What’s looking like it’s going to be an annual thing, the NBA has announced this year’s Christmas Day jerseys. The result is, once again, sort of strange.

The re-design features centered enlarged team logos over the chest with an equally enlarged number right underneath, but what makes this lose any chance of looking cool was that they went from having a player’s name written at the top of the back of the jersey, to mid-back with a white background. Not only that, but they switched from the traditional practice of featuring the player’s last name, to their first. Why though?

Hit the jump to see a gallery of this year’s Christmas Day jerseys. Hey, at least these aren’t as terrible-looking as last year’s:

Allen Iverson Retires; Top 10 Career Plays

posted by Oscar October 30, 2013

Allen Iverson, A.I., The Answer, formally announced his retirement from professional basketball earlier today (Oct. 30). This guy was one of the brightest and most exciting players to watch of his generation, but after 15 seasons and just one Finals appearance, he never got to win that ring. However, A.I. won Rookie of the Year (’97), MVP (2001), 11 All-Star appearances (2x All-Star MVP) and 4 league Scoring Championships. I always enjoyed watching this guy play back when he was on the rise and in his prime, so it’s sad to see this guy’s time to hang up his jersey has come.

The NBA put together a list of Top 10 plays spanning his career, which include some real gems, that you can check out above. Thanks for the memories, Mr. “Practice.”

Stop the Jordan/LeBron Comparisons

posted by motorj77 August 21, 2012

Why people need to stop comparing Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

For starters, how can there be any comparisons made between a retired NBA player and a player who is barely half way through his career? Yes, you can compare stats at a specific stage in each of the player’s careers. However, most people are trying to figure out who is the real G.O.A.T.  STOP IT! Continue Reading
