MUSE Release New Single/Video “Dig Down”

posted by Oscar May 18, 2017

MUSE have returned today, and they’ve delivered their new single “Dig Down.” The track, which was co-produced by Mike Elizondo and Muse and mixed by Spike Stent, has anthemic vibes with quite the Industrial feel to it. The lyrics are inspiring as well, hitting themes of unity and survival.

The single was released with its accompanying music video, which personifies those same themes in an action-packed Sci-Fi mini-film that shows the lead character having to fight back against a “Big Brother” type being. The video was directed by Lance Drake and features Lauren Wasser.

Lead singer Matt Bellamy said in a press release:

When I was writing this song, I was looking to counteract the current negativity in the world and give inspiration, optimism and hope to people to fight for the causes they believe in; that as individuals we can choose to change the world if we want to.”

Video: Muse – “Lies” (CHVRCHES Cover) Live in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

Following that excellent appearance by FKA twigs on the show, the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge welcomed the English band Muse and had them to do a cool cover of their own. Matthew Bellamy and crew chose CHVRCHES’ “Lies,” and their version is pretty damn sweet re-imagining of the track as an 80’s-like production (hear the original here).

Muse – “Dead Inside”

Muse - Drones

Muse today unleashed their lead single today called “Dead Inside.” The new track is our latest look at new album Drones. Matt Bellamy, Muse lead singer, commented about the new track:

“This is where the story of the album begins, where the protagonist loses hope and becomes ‘Dead Inside’, therefore vulnerable to the dark forces introduced in ‘Psycho’ and which ensue over the next few songs on the album, before eventually defecting, revolting and overcoming these dark forces later in the story.”

Muse – “Psycho”

posted by Oscar March 12, 2015

Muse back! Today brought the latest release from UK band Muse and the result is the scorcher, “Psycho.” The riff is devilish and energetic, and the “screamo” technique employed on this song works flawlessly particularly as Bellamy continuously shouts “psycho” in the chorus.

“Psycho” is our first preview of forthcoming album Drones (co-produced by Robert John ‘Mutt’ Lange!), due out June 8. See the lyric video above.

Video: St. Vincent, Muse Cover ‘Lithium’ to Pay Tribute to Kurt Cobain

posted by Oscar April 7, 2014

This Saturday, April 5, 2014 marked 20 years since the world lost a legend in Kurt Cobain. To pay tribute to the Nirvana leader, St. Vincent and Muse coincidentally both covered the Nevermind track, “Lithium.”

St. Vincent, who was playing in our town at The Riviera, played a straight-on cover of the original with that same aggression and snarl that did Cobain justice (above). Muse was headlining down in Sao Paulo for this year’s Lollapalooza Brazil when they did their rendition, which was less grungry and modified/adapted, appropriately, for a festival setting that led to a big sing-along between fans and the band. See that below. Continue Reading
