DJ Premier and Miguel Collab for “2 LOVIN U”

DJ Premier and Miguel have shared their new collaborative track together. The tune has its history in being formerly known as “Damned,” which didn’t make the final tracklist of Miguel’s 2015 album, Wildheart.

Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda and Questlove of The Roots have released The Hamilton Mixtape, which brings together various artists to rework songs from the award-winning musical. Some of the artists that contributed to the mixtape are Chance The Rapper, Nas, Alicia Keys, Common, The Roots, Regina Spektor, Busta Rhymes, and Ashanti with Ja Rule.

The Hamilton Mixtape also features the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Usher, Miguel, Sia, Queen Latifah, Francis and the Lights, Wiz Khalifa, Snow Tha Product, Residente, Ben Folds, and more. Stream the new mixtape below via Apple Music and Spotify. Continue Reading

Hear Two New Tracks From ‘The Hamilton Mixtape,’ Including “Satisfied” by Sia feat. Miguel and Queen Latifah

A couple more tracks from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s upcoming Hamilton Mixtape have been unveiled. Sia leads “Satisfied,” with guest features from Miguel and Queen Latifah. The other track is “Immigrants (We Get the Job Done)” and it brings together K’NAAN, Snow Tha Product, Riz MC, and Residente all dropping bars.

The mixtape, which also features tracks from Chance the Rapper (with Francis and the Lights), the Roots, Nas, Wiz Khalifa, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Usher, and Common among others, is due out December 2 via Atlantic.

Miguel – “Cadillac”

Miguel’s new track “Cadillac” is the latest to be revealed off the forthcoming soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s new Netflix series The Get Down. This joint premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, hear it below. I must admit, there’s not much there as far as a chorus goes, but the backing music itself is great with its throwback, Funk-inspired sound and more-than-decent verses to go along with that.

Also on the soundtrack are songs by Nas, Grandmaster Flash, Zayn, and Nile Rodgers among others. Continue Reading

Top 10 Performances of Pitchfork Music Festival 2016

Pitchfork Music Festival took place over the weekend and it was another fine edition of the annual fest. We saw all the dope sets on our checklist, and then we added some more to round out the whole experience. Needless to say, all three days played out like one big highlight reel, with performance after performance more than delivering on our expectations! Lowkey, you’ll find that the majority of these were on that original must-see list, but I take that more as a testament to how good we pick ’em 😉.

The 2016 edition of the Pitchfork Music Festival has come to a close after today’s performances at Union Park. Day 3 was powered by a great mix of artists, with the second half serving as a highlight of the burgeoning new R&B scene. The acts that we were able to capture today were HOMME, Empress Of, Holy Ghost!, Neon Indian, Jeremih, Miguel, and main headliner FKA twigs.

Pitchfork Music Festival 2016

The 2016 Pitchfork Music Festival will be taking place this forthcoming Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17 at Chicago’s Union Park. We’re a month away from the festivities and to gear up today we’ve received this year’s schedule.

Outside Lands 2016 Lineup Announced feat. Radiohead, J. Cole, Chance The Rapper

San Francisco’s Outside Lands music fest has revealed its 2016 lineup and the headliners this year will be Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Lionel Richie, and J. Cole.

Further down the roster are POD faves like Chance The Rapper, Ryan Adams, Miguel, Kehlani, The Last Shadow Puppets, and Vince Staples. The addition to the lineup? The Muppets’ Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem!!
