She & Him - Classics

Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward are coming together again this year for another album as the duo known as She & Him. This time around they’re showing off their best cover band colors with their new album titled Classics and our first look at thing’s to come is their tribute to Dusty Springfield’s “Stay Awhile.” Their version gives it a cool, indie-in-the-2000s vibe and it sure makes for a promising new album from them.

You can see the trailer, featuring a snippet of this cover, below and you can hear the actual song by clicking over to their website and tuning the dial to 1202 (which notes the album’s release date, Dec 2).

Update: Now you can also just stream it below. Continue Reading

posted by Oscar May 11, 2013

America’s collective crush on Ms. Zooey Deschanel can keep on growing because there’s more evidence she’s also a pretty good music performer. Deschanel and M. Ward make up the duo She & Him who have just released their fourth album (“Volume 3,” released May 7th on Merge) and went on Letterman to perform the lead single.

The song is “Never Wanted Your Love,” which the duo performed greatly with a full backing band that also included four violinists and backup singers. See the clip above.
