See The Strokes Play Their “Biggest Show Ever” In Front of 90,000 People at Lollapalooza Argentina

posted by Oscar April 3, 2017

Over the weekend The Strokes helped close Lollapalooza Argentina, and they did so with a major highlight moment as their set was witnessed by the biggest audience of their careers. After playing the South American edition of the festival, bassist Nikolai Fraiture proclaimed The Strokes had played their “biggest show ever” thanks to a crowd that was 90,000 people strong!

Footage from the livestream has surfaced, and while we’re no crowd size estimators (at least not professionally), that crowd was indeed massive and those fans provided an atmosphere that can best fall under the description of, spectacular. They were bouncing as if they were following a finely choreographed routine, the fists waving, the soccer-stadium-ready chanting; it had it all. You know it’s lit when Julian Casablancas and the boy were compelled to do not 1, not 2, but 3 encores!

Even though this past week it was all about SXSW for those of us stateside, Lollapalooza Argentina was also taking place with some awesome moments of their own taking place. The biggest, perhaps, was when Jack White invited living legend Robert Plant to perform one of his former band’s songs, Led Zeppelin’s “The Lemon Song.”
