Kings Of Leon have unleashed their new music video for “Around The World.” The charming track has an equally charming video, which is comprised of shots of fans from around the world performing choreography and singing the lyrics to the song. In the clip we see fans representing all kinds of countries, ethnicities, and creeds. It’s also cool to point out the different dances that are shown here like Brazil’s samba, Ireland’s step dancing, and Native American dancing. All of these interspersed together make for some quite inspiring and unifying visuals.

Take a trip through cities like Oslo, Norway; Toronto, Canada; Brooklyn, USA; Sydney, Australia; Berlin, Germany and more in the video above! Look below to find the band’s comments on the purpose for putting together this video like this. Continue Reading

Kings Of Leon – “Around The World”

posted by Oscar September 29, 2016

Kings Of Leon have shared their latest cut from forthcoming album, Walls. The new song is called “Around The World,” and it’s propelled by a sweet combo of guitar and bass riffs. The slinky guitars are paired with a funky bass line that make the song very danceable, and the chorus feels like prime material for an EDM remix.

Kings of Leon have shared their new visuals for “Waste a Moment,” the lead single from their upcoming record Walls. The visuals kick off with cheerleaders sitting the park, where police officers mysteriously drop to the ground. From there we find some more bizarre imagery like blindfolded KOL members, burning eyes, and more shots of the cheerleaders. Watch the video below.

Kings Of Leon – “Waste A Moment”

posted by Oscar September 9, 2016

Kings Of Leon have officially made their return and now they’ve delivered their first single from forthcoming album WALLS. The lead track is titled “Waste A Moment” and it sounds like the band is trying to go back to basics, delivering something more closely aligned to their earlier material. While it’s not as rugged and charmingly unpolished as their first two albums, on this song they’re employing a driving tempo that transitions to a grand chorus, a formula that worked well on Only By The Night. There’s also a hint of Post-Punk too that I’m quite enjoying.

WALLS is due out October 14 via RCA. Listen to “Waste A Moment” below. Continue Reading

Kings Of Leon Announce New Album ‘Walls’

posted by Oscar August 25, 2016

Kings Of Leon

Kings Of Leon are officially back and they are returning with a new album titled Walls. The southern rockers have formally announced their new project, their follow-up to 2013’s Mechanical Bull, which will arrive this coming October 14.

The news comes paired with a new interview with Billboardin which we get a first look at new material along with learning about the gut-punching story of when a valet lost out on extra dough after implying to frontman Caleb Followill that the band wasn’t still around and playing. The story touches on the “major shake-up” the band had to go through to pick themselves up from the poor performances of their previous 2 records and the effect of working with Markus Dravs, best known for his work with bands like Mumford & Sons (Sigh No More) and Arcade Fire (The Suburbs). Head over to Billboard to read it in full.

Check below for the track list and some teaser clips the band has posted on social to hold you up until we finally get a new single! Continue Reading

Eagles Of Death Metal Share “I Love You All The Time” Covers by Florence + The Machine, Kings Of Leon and more

posted by Oscar December 18, 2015

Eagles Of Death Metal I Love You All The Time

In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on Paris on November 13, 2015 in which many innocent lives were taken at that evening’s Eagles Of Death Metal show at Le Bataclan, the band has released the a collection of covers of their song “I Love You All The Time” from their Play It Forward campaign to raise funds for the families of those most affected by these attacks.

The initial idea for the campaign came when none other than Duran Duran who reached out with an immediate and sincere act of musical solidarity: In response to a fan-led campaign to push Eagles Of Death Metal’s cover of Duran Duran’s classic “Save A Prayer” to #1 in the UK, Simon LeBon tweeted that the new romantic icons would donate their share of royalties from the track to charity.

In the weeks that followed, Eagles Of Death Metal asked its musical family to extend the victims of the Paris attacks the same kindness and compassion that everyone from the members of U2 to the French authorities had shown the band—to join the Play It Forward EODM Campaign. EODM asked artists the world over to cover “I Love You All The Time” from its current album Zipper Down. For every cover sold, the band pledged to donate 100% of its publishing income to The Sweet Stuff Foundation, the non-profit organization founded in 2013 by EODM co-founder Joshua Homme to provide assistance to musicians and their families in times of need, as well as musical education and gear for the next generation. Participating artists were also asked to donate the money generated from sales of the song to the charity.

An impending thunderstorm this past Saturday night forced Kings Of Leon to cancel their headlining set at Firefly but on the closing night The Killers made sure the fans still got to hear KOL’s music. Brandon Flowers and the rest of the Vegas band covered two of Saturday night headliner’s songs in “Use Somebody” (below) and “The Bucket” (my personal favorite of theirs).
