Run the Jewels Announce New Album ‘RTJ3,’ Release “Legend Has It”

El-P and Killer Mike, the duo better known as Run The Jewels, have announced their highly anticipated third album RTJ3 will have a worldwide digital release on January 13, with physical editions available on that date in North America and on January 20 internationally. RTJ3 will be self-released in partnership with RED Distribution. Fans will have multiple formats to obtain the new album, including free download (as always), CD, LP, and digital; available for preorder now via www.runthejewels.com.

Danny Brown, Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio, Trina, saxophonist Kamasi Washington and others are among the featured guests on the forthcoming album.

With the announcement comes a new track titled “Legend Has It.” The duo had previously released RTJ3 cuts “2100” featuring BOOTS and “Talk To Me.” Hear “Legend Has It” after the jump. The track, which like the entire album, was produced by El-P, and co-produced by Little Shalimar & Wilder Zoby.

Glasses Malone feat. Kendrick Lamar and Killer Mike – “Thuggin'”

Glasses Malone today released the official lyric video to his song “Thuggin’.” That track was originally released back in April with a sole feature from king of Compton Kendrick Lamar, but with today’s release the track comes a new guest spot from Killer Mike.

Video: Killer Mike and Action Bronson Rap Battle on “The Eric André Show”

Killer Mike and Action Bronson are the latest rappers to appear on the awesomely weird Adult Swim series The Eric André Show. The rappers engaged in the old Hip Hop tradition of battling, but on this show it was only right that they did so on treadmills. As you can expect, the heavyweight masters of the mic could only handle so much time doing cardio.

On the other side of the “late night TV” game we saw Run The Jewels repping for the Hip Hop contingent on Late Show with David Letterman. The duo are celebrating their new LP and for that they performed album track “Early” for Letterman.

The band was joined by Beyoncé producer Boots and featured some catrinas on backup vocals. Peep that display of talent above.

Fader Goose Island Analog MigrationThe Fader and Goose Island are teaming up for some free events in Chicago, New York and San Francisco. The inaugural “Analog Migration” in Chicago will take place at the Lacuna Lofts next Thursday (5/1) with DJ Timbuck2 spinning for the night. There will also be plenty of the new 312 Pale Ale’s to go around. As if that were not enough, there will also be performances from Run The Jewels (Killer Mike & EL-P) and Tijuana Panthers. Events: Big Boi Announces ‘Shoes For Running’ Tour

After releasing new material over the past year, Big Boi has announced his Shoes For Running tour. In support of his latest solo effort, Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors,  the tour will kick off on April 18, in Georgia, and will make stops in 44 American cities plus a stop in Toronto, ON, Canada.

Killer Mike will serve as the opening act on all dates.
