posted by Alex March 2, 2017

The weekend is pretty much here. As always, there is always something to do or see in the city. We’ve made the planning easy for you and included some of our picks to be at for the weekend. Take a look below, I’m sure you’ll catch us at some of these!

Los Campesinos! – 3/2 @ The Metro: No, Los Campesinos is not Mexican Regional Band. Los Campesinos! are actually an Indie band from Wales and they’ll be performing at The Metro. Buy your tickets here!

Kevin Abstract – 3/3 @ Subterranean: Make sure you’re posted up at Sub-T on Friday night as Kevin Abstract will be in town. Purchase tickets now, because we’re sure this show will be sold out!

Heavyweight Soul – 3/3 @ The Whistler: Maybe you’re just trying to have some drinks and vibe to some dope tracks this weekend. If that’s so, head over to The Whistler on Friday and catch DJ Mr. Jaytoo playing nothing but soul, funk, and disco vibes.

Ibn Inglor – 3/4 @ Chop Shop: Ibn Inglor is back and we couldn’t be any more excited. Check out his live set at the Chop Shop on Saturday.

Quiet Clubbing – 3/4 @ 19 East: You can’t go wrong with a good silent party. It’s even better when there is good music involved. King Marie, Manny Muscles, Evie The Cool, Boathouse, DJ Izzy E and many more will all be taking care of the different channels, so make sure you’re there!

Rapflix w/ Freddy Phatz @ Harbee Liquors: Enjoy the vibes from Freddy Phatz while watching the videos to everything that he plays. Sundays really are better at Harbee Liquors!

posted by Alex April 16, 2016

Kevin Abstract and Allan Kingdom seem to be the perfect combo. The music that they come up with together has got the power to take you to a different place. Today, Kevin Abstract gives us “Slit My Wrist” which features Allan Kingdom and production from Romil. The track proves once again why both of these gentlemen are one of our favorite combinations. Hopefully we get to hear more from both individually as well as together in the near future. Check out “Slit My Wrist” above.

teenage angst has paid off well

Pigeons and Planes has put together a Nirvana covers album, Teenage Angst Has Paid Off Well, and released it today in honor of what would have been lead singer Kurt Cobain’s 48th birthday.

One of the stand-out tracks in this compilation is Kevin Abstract’s cover of the moody “Something In The Way.” The gloomy tune and Abstract made good use of that for his own spacey reimagining. Check that out below and stream the rest of the covers album after the jump. Continue Reading
