Album Stream: Chance The Rapper & Jeremih Share ‘Merry Christmas Lil Mama: Rewrapped’

posted by Oscar December 19, 2017

Hannibal Buress says it best on the intro to “Lil Bit (Interlude)”: “It’s another Christmas album from Chance The Rapper and Jeremih. I guess these muhfuckas must really love Christmas.

The Chicago artists came together once more to deliver 2017’s follow-up  to last year’s Christmas album. Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama: Rewrapped packs 10 tracks that also fit the holiday theme. My favorites upon first listening to MCLM2 include “Lil Bit,” “Held It Down,” “Big Kid Again,” and “Ms. Parker.” The whole festive project is worth playing as we count down to the 25th.

Jeremih and Chance gave their city the first shot to hear the project by premiering it live on Chicago’s Power 92 with Hot Rod last night.

The full-on return of The Cool Kids is nigh! The duo consisting of Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks have delivered some big news today surrounding their latest project, with the pair not only detailing the album titled Special Edition Grand Master Deluxe but also releasing a song off it.

The new song we get to vibe to is called “9:15Pm” and it features Jeremih. The production here is light and experimental with a classic Hip Hop quality to it, while their fellow Chicago singer provides a hook that ties it all together.

The Cool Kids have also shared some details about their first release in six years, which is due out September 15, including the album’s cover art (see above). The track list reveals we can expect to hear 16 tunes, while artists like Hannibal Buress, Travis Barker (Blink-182), HXLT, A-Trak, Syd (The Internet), and others feature on the album.

Jeremih Releases ‘Cinco De MihYo’ EP

posted by Oscar May 5, 2017

Jeremih is helping us celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a little something special: a 5-track EP titled Cinco De MihYo. Jeremih is on board with commemorating my people kicking some French army’s ass at the Battle of Puebla and so he released his surprise EP today, conceiving it in just 24 hours.

Jeremih told Hot New Hip-Hop, “I was inspired by the holiday and put this project together in the last 24 hours… I walked in the studio and my producer Bongo [ByTheWay] was playing some guitar vibes. After a few shots of tequila and some good company, I decided to do something different for my fans.”

A one-day turnaround for a new EP? I dig that. Check it out below. Continue Reading

See Pictures of The Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour Show in Chicago

posted by Oscar September 2, 2016

Diddy kicked off his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour in our town last night to show Chicago once more exactly why his crew ruled the scene some generations ago. Puff Daddy and crew took us on a nostalgia trip filled with hits from the last 20 years that have become iconic Hip Hop tunes and many more that are still club staples today.

Among the performers throughout the night besides P. Diddy himself included Lil Kim, Mase, Faith Evans, French Montana, Black Rob, Total, Carl Thomas, The Lox, and 112. And you better believe there were plenty of tribute to the late legend, Notorious B.I.G.! Guest appearances included DMX, Chance The Rapper and Jeremih.

Our good friend and photographer Sarah Hess was on the scene with her lens to capture some highlights throughout the night that we’re sharing here with you. Find those super dope shots below. Continue Reading
