fight me

What a time to be alive. If you’ve been out of the loop lately, the local artist, Supa Bwe (as well as one of my Chicago favorites) has made a lot of moves lately. Which included the making of the new group FIGHT ME.

It is the union of Supa, UG Wavy & Shepard Hues, three talented individuals coming tough already.  The trio definitely gives a good taste for the future with this track. Absolute fire. Get with it and get familiar.

The FIGHT ME movement has commenced.

Supa Bwe – “Show Me” (featuring Taylor Bennett) & “Run a Check Up”

posted by Alex March 13, 2016

Supa Bwe’s giving us a nice little Sunday treat today by dropping two tracks. The first one is called “Show Me” and it features Taylor Bennett. “I smoke my spliff in the shower cause that b**ch did me dirty” sticks to your head as both artists really do the track its justice. The composition of the track is perfect. The other track is called “Run a Check Up” and it’s produced by Supa Bwe himself with help from Shepard Hues. “Run a Check Up” will take you on a nice little trip as it starts rather calm but turns into something energetic that we can expect from Supa. Take a listen to both tracks below and don’t forget to thank Supa Bwe for blessing us all on this lovely Sunday.

Dopest Albums of 2015 By Alex

BeFunky Collage

As I look back at what 2015 brought us musically, I can’t help to think that we were really blessed to have so much selection in music to choose from. I have chosen my nine favorite projects of 2015, and I’m pretty sure they’re a lot different from many lists when it comes to some projects in particular. I do have to add that the majority of the music that I listen to is in my car, on my commute to work, while working out, or while I’m in the act of getting prepared for my upcoming struggles in life so my list is definitely biased to what I’ve been going through all year round. There were so many projects that I wish I could put on here, but these projects are consistently being played by me. Check out the albums I chose as my favorite of 2015 below. Continue Reading

Hurt Everybody - 24EP

Hurt Everybody don’t stop! The Chitown outfit has blessed us with yet another new project, their latest titled 24EP. The trio kicked off the summer with 2K47 and now they close it with this 5-track EP.

According to Fake Shore Drive, the trio locked themselves in from midnight-to-midnight this past June 1st to create the EP within those 24 hours. If that’s not pure demonstration of a love for their craft, then I don’t know what is!

Stream the new EP and check out the “making of” video below. Continue Reading

Hurt Everybody feat. Mick Jenkins - Social Network Gang

Hurt Everybody hits back with another piece of dopeness with their release of “Social Network,” featuring Mick Jenkins. The Mulatto Beats track initially surfaced simply known as “Gang” but now the renamed song was taken to another level with Jenkins’ addition, making the group’s debut album that much hotter.

Hotly anticipated, 2K47 finally drops this weekend  on Saturday, 7/4. Vibe to the track after the jump. Continue Reading

Hurt Everybody & Twin Peaks – “Before The War”

Hurt Everybody Twin Peaks

When we first learned that Hurt Everybody and Twin Peaks were collaborating on a track, this instantly started a mini countdown in our heads until it finally came, and today we can finally say it’s arrived! “Before The War” brings together the Hip Hop collective with one of the most exciting Chicago bands, with the backbone of the beat produced by Hurt Everybody while the Twin Peaks dudes laid down guitar riffs and shimmering solos.

The song title (along with the artwork) is very indicative of its sound with a “calm before the storm” vibe. I gotta say, this second single off forthcoming project 2K47 is one of their best yet. Hear the track after the jump. Continue Reading
