Afropunk Brooklyn 2017 Lineup Announced feat. Thundercat, Gary Clark Jr., Kaytranada, + a St. Heron Stage

The 2017 lineup for the Brooklyn installment of Afropunk has been announced. The roster for this year includes Soul II Soul, Sampha, Thundercat, Kaytranada, Dizzee Rascal, Gary Clark Jr., Macy Gray, SZA, Serpentwithfeet, Sango, The Cool Kids, and Kevin Abstract. Solange’s St. Heron and Kaytranada will also  Many more headliners will be announced soon, too.

Gary Clark Jr. Releases “Can’t Sleep” Video Trilogy

Gary Clark Jr. teamed up with director Gus Black for a new video trilogy for songs off of his recently released album, The Story of Sonny Boy Slim. There are a few cameos in the video that runs for nearly 10 minutes. Wayhome Music Festival 2016 Lineup Announced, feat. LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, The Killers

Wayhome Fest 2016

The second installment of Canada’s WayHome Music & Arts Festival will be hitting Oro-Medonte, ON from July 22nd to the 24th and today we get to learn the lineup. The headliners are the recently reunited LCD Soundsystem, Canadian icons Arcade Fire, and The Killers.

Also on the bill are Major Lazer, M83, FKA twigs, Future, The Arcs, and Vince Staples. See the full lineup above.

New Orleans Jazz Fest 2016 Lineup Announced, feat. Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, Chili Peppers

New Orleans Jazz Fest 2016

The 2016 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has been announced and it will be headlined by Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Neil Young. The top of the bill aren’t the only names to get excited about, with big names like Snoop Dogg, Paul Simon, Beck, Van Morrison, Julio Iglesias (wtf??), J. Cole, and My Morning Jacket also included on the roster.

Also headed to NoLA April 22-May 1 this year are Ms. Lauryn Hill, Janelle Monáe, Snoop Dogg, Gary Clark Jr., Mavis Staples, The Isley Brothers, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and more.

Video: Gary Clark Jr. and Courtney Barnett Perform on ‘Austin City Limits’

The season premiere of Austin City Limits featured two of the best guitar Rockers in the game today in Courtney Barnett and local boy Gary Clark Jr. Airing on PBS, GCJ’s set included a number of cuts off this year’s album The Story Of Sonny Boy Slim, like “Grinder,” “Cold Blooded,” and finishing off with “The Healing.”

For Barnett’s portion of the episode (starting at the 27:52 mark) we saw the Melbourne star churn out live renditions of songs like “Nobody Really Cares if You Don’t Go to the Party,””Depreston,” and “Pedestrian at Best,” while also covering You Am I’s “Heavy Heart.”

Awesome news today from the Gary Clark Jr. camp as the eclectic guitarist has announced a new album is on the way and it’s titled The Story Of Sonny Boy Slim. The Austin man will be delivering the follow-up to his 2012 debut on September 11th from Warner Bros. Records.

The album is a product of Gary Clark Jr.’s creativity as it was written, produced, and arranged by Clark himself. The news of the new album comes with a 6 minute-plus trailer that gives some insights on what we can expect to hear on The Story Of Sonny Boy Slim.

The 2015 edition of Lollapalooza will commence this Friday, July 31st and for the unlucky many who won’t be attending the mammoth Chicago festival, fear not for the Lolla organizers and Red Bull TV will be hooking you guys up a webcast of a sizable number of performances taking place this weekend at Grant Park.

Some of the sets that fans will be able to live stream on Red Bull TV include Paul McCartney, Metallica, Florence + the Machine, Alt-J, Alabama Shakes, Gary Clark Jr., Walk The Moon, James Bay, Twin Peaks, and Mick Jenkins.

Summerfest 2015 Lineup feat. Kendrick Lamar, Kings of Leon, The Flaming Lips

Milwaukee’s biggest and best music fest, Summeriest, today announced its 2015 lineup. The massive fest, one of US’s largest around, will see headliners like Kendrick Lamar with ScHoolboy Q, Kings of Leon, Zac Brown Band, and Linkin Park hitting the stages of Henry Maier Festival Park from June 24th – 28th and June 30th – July 5th for its separately ticketed events.

The Ground Stage headliners include the likes of The Flaming Lips, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Jane’s Addiction, Nas, Public Enemy, and Gary Clark Jr.
